Following the relocation of the Board of Tax Appeals (BoTA) and its extensive taxpayer education campaign across Liberia, the Board has resumed hearings of tax dispute cases at its new headquarters on Redemption Road, at the back of the Executive Mansion in Monrovia.
The resumption of hearings took place on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, with two separate tax dispute cases heard before the Board.

The cases involved Liberia Agricultural Company (LAC) versus the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) and Market Business Center (MBC) versus the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA). Legal representatives for the respective parties appeared before the Board during the hearings held in the conference room at BoTA’s new headquarters.
At the conclusion of both hearings, BoTA’s Executive Director, Cllr. Benjamin B. Stewart Jr., reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to ensuring accessible and affordable due process in the resolution of tax disputes in Liberia, in accordance with the country’s tax laws.
Cllr. Stewart further encouraged taxpayers to make use of the Board’s services whenever they encounter tax-related disputes, noting that BoTA remains committed to providing a fair and lawful avenue for resolving such matters.
