The Board of Tax Appeals, (BoTA), is on the Road again this time the Board Departs Monrovia for the Southeast to conduct workshops in Sinoe and Rivercess Counties in Continuation of Nationwide Taxpayer Awareness Campaign.
The Board of Tax Appeals (BoTA), leaves Monrovia for the Southeast on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, as part of its ongoing nationwide awareness campaign under the Theme: “Know Your Bill of Rights and the Importance of the Tax Appeal Process.”. The Board’s aims to build confidence and public trust between the taxpayers and the tax Authority the LRA, so that the taxpayer can see the tax authority as partners and not as an adversary.
As part of this outreach, BoTA will conduct a one-day workshop in Sinoe County on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the ACFI Multipurpose Church Edifice in Greenville City, Sinoe County.
Following this engagement, in Sinoe County, the Board will proceed to Rivercess County, where the second workshop will be held in Rivercess County, at the Cestos City Hall on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
The workshops are expected to bring together members of the business community, county stakeholders, civil society organizations, and invited participants particularly those who have received official communication to gain a comprehensive understanding of the mandate of the Board of Tax Appeals, the appeals process, and taxpayers’ rights.
This initiative comes at a time when Greenville and Cestos Cities are emerging as competitive commercial hubs in Liberia. Accordingly, the workshops are intended to ensure that business owners and taxpayers are adequately informed about their rights and responsibilities under the tax laws of Liberia, including their right to due process.
It may be recalled that BoTA has conducted similar outreach activities in Nimba, Grand Bassa, Maryland, River Gee, Grand Gedeh, and Bong Counties between 2024 and 2026. Feedback and recommendations gathered from these engagements have contributed significantly to strengthening Liberia’s tax administration system in collaboration with other relevant institutions. All aim at promoting the Arrest Agenda for Inclusive Development, (AAID).
